What a complete jerk; he is an arrogant asshole.

It is unconscionable and inexcusable that he bad-mouthed the Supreme Court in front of everyone in the entire world. And every fucking Democrat that stood up and applauded that should be run out of office.

November can't get here quick enough for me, and I will be dancing a jig in November 2012.

  2. I will admit I couldn't stay up to watch the entire speech, but what I saw I liked. His jobs initiative...love it! Spending freeze to get the deficit down...hell yeah!

  3. And no one knows what will happen in 2012. He could very well be elected again....

The Repubs will have to put up someone damn good...

  4. ummmmmmmmm, i'm thinking the Repubs will have no problem finding someone better than the anointed one.

Sorry, I could only read the transcripts, after 5 minutes of watching it, I wanted to throw up with Pelosi in the background.

Bring on November, us Nevadans are gonna show ol Harry the door...

  5. The freeze covers less than one percent of the bidget. He campaigned AGAINST spending freezes, so it's nice to see that he is taking McCain's position on that.

His jobs initiates are all but worthless. Most jobs initiatives are, and I have said that about Republican's too. The only jobs the government can create are government jobs, which add to the problem, since taxes have to be used to pay the salaries.

He TALKS fine...but what does he DO???? He does NOTHING.

Bush couldn't string two coherent sentences together, but he did what he said he would, and he did it WITHOUT a super majority in Congress. He can't get shit done, and he blames Repbulicans for it, which shows how completely and pathologically Narcissistic and out of touch with reality he relaly is.

    And he is IGNORANT.

He grotesquely insulted the Supreme Court last night before a world-wide audience, and he was WRONG about what he said.

Foreign campaign donations are not even addressed by the decision that the Court handed down...one would THINK a SENIOR LECTURER of Constitutional Law would KNOW that.

  6. I agree that we do not know what will happen in 2012. If Hillary runs, the GOP will have to have someone good.

If the current asshole runs without mightily changing his way and policies, your sweet Bailey-boy could beat him.

  7. OK, but what DID Bush do that was so great? What did he really do?

As far as the SC, he said he disagreed with their decision. Now he can't disagree with anyone either?

And Liz, I agree with you, I was totally annoyed with Pelosi!!!

And are you two going to sit here and say the Republicans don't blame the Dems for shit, too?! C'mon I know you are both way smarter than that. Politics is one big friggin blame game! And say what you want, but he didn't create this budget deficit in just one year. Even many of the articles you have posted, Tams, have pointed out that he has just continued on with many of Bushie's policies. Why weren't the Repubs squawking back then???

  8. And can I just ask why it is alright for you guys and so many others to call him names and insult him the way you all do, but people would get bent out of shape when Bush was insulted. I specifically remember many of you saying during his Presidency that he is the President and as such deserves our respect whether we like him or not......

  9. I did get bent out of shape when they bashed Bush unfairly, but never denied anyone had the right do it.

I bashed Bush myself when he had it coming. (Amnesty and the bank bail out) I do respect the office, but I have every right to criticize the person holding it, as do you.

I will be the FIRST to defend Obama and praise him when I feel he deserves it. I have done so on this blog several times.

Unlike most people in the political arena, I am capable of dishing it out AND taking it.

I refuse to stick up for a person with an R by their name if I don't like what they're doing.

I will not stand by and listen to people trash someone with a D by their name if they are doing something I agree with, just because they have that D.

Make no mistake, I will jump right in on the trashing (provided it's not a purely personal attack) if I agree with it, I'm just saying that I am not blind to someone on the "other " side when they are doing things I agree with.

  10. Dog gone it, the blog keeps eating my reply!

Girl, I didn't see your first comment up there; let me offer some quick thoughts...

I am not arguing that what Bush did was great at all times, merely that he laid out hwat he intended to do and he did it. He pushed through tax cuts, with a Congress hostile to them. He got that perscription drug benefit through (not sure how I really feel about that) and also the No Child Left Behind (hated that one) He got Congress to declare war on Iraq, for God's sake! He did this without anywhere near the Super Majority Obama enjoys. I think his success was because he wasn't trying to shove through a radical agenda. There were things both sides could agree on. And when he faield to get what he wanted (privatizing Social Security for instance) he did not go on a rampage of blaming everyone in sight for his failure.

With regards to the comments to the SC, let me say that it is probably not the criticism that bothered me, so much as the venue in which it took place.

Let's compare it to when Joe Wilson called Obama a liar.

I was flabbergasted when the Censured him, and I wrote a letter to my Congressman, who much to my disgust, voted in favor of the reprimand. Keep in mind that my rep is a hard-nosed Conswrvative. But he wrote me back a very nice letter, explaining that he voted n favor of the reprimand because of the very serious breach of protocol he felt Joe Wilson committed.

Now, I personally think Joe WIlson did nothing more than speak truth tp pwoer, but by God, itw a sprobably not the proper time or place to be doing so. I can respect that argument.

If a junior Congressman cannot break protocol, then the President certainly should not. It is far worse when he does. And The State of the Union address is a much loftier venue than a joint session of Congress, so to me, it was a worse breach of protocol.

I do not think he meant to intimidate SCOTUS, which is what is being said elsewhere, but I do think it was arrogant, childish, and decidely unPresidential. And it exposed his ignorance, too.

  11. Fair enough. And believe it or not I agree with a lot of what you point out! :-)

I should have pointed out above that I have no issue with you guys saying whatever you want about whomever you want, President included, because Lord knows I had my fair share to say about Bush. I didn't mean that comment to seem like it was just directed at you two. Just putting it out there, because I remember being taken to task more than a few times on the board (NOT by either of you) for insulting Bush...

  12. no matter who is President they are gonna get called some crap~ I rolled with it when Bush was put up to slaughter, yes I vocally expressed that was bullshit and yes whoever is President should be shown some respect, BUT I do feel Obama does think he is above even past Presidents with his whole anti-Fox news issue he has and trying to discredit that network cuz they say unpleasant things about him.Bush talked smack about a few reproters but didn't try silencing their network. That's where I have issues.

For me, calling him the annointed one is not a hateful term.

Also the Pelosi thing, no matter who is sitting behind any Pres. it annoys the hell out of me~ I didn't even like seeing Cheney back there~its distracting~but Pelosi was really distracting. They should just zoom in on the Pres. Also all the applauding hoopla is a time kill for me, that's why i just read the transcripts for substance.

I think in the next 3 years if he doesn't pull off something sutbstantial there will be a party change in the white house, it won't be difficult.

And I do think Reids' days are number here.
