Let Them Eat Cake -OORAH!

Happy 235th birthday to the
World's Most Awesome Fighting Machine.

They have been protecting this country since before it even WAS a country. And ya gotta love any organization that gets its start in a bar!  http://www.marines.com/main/index/winning_battles/history/missions/founding_of_the_marine_co

Around the world, Marines celebrate the day with a cake tradition: The oldest Marine takes the first bite of birthday cake decorated with the U.S. Marine logo and then passes it on to the youngest Marine.

May they eat cake for 235 more years!

Although they compromise only 11% of our military, almost a quarter of all combat deaths are from the Corps. I'm sure the stats for injury are even higher, so go help 'em out!

When this hero wakes up,...

I want him to have every possible tool available for his recovery:

The soldier had tourniquets placed for partial amputation of both legs. One liter of a special IV fluid was given in the helicopter, and the patient arrived at the Kandahar hospital in and out of consciousness and in shock.

In the operating room, surgeons temporarily tied off the arteries going to the legs and repaired a tear in a major vein. There was massive damage to the area between the legs. One leg was amputated at the knee. In a second operation the next day his wounds were rewashed and a finger, broken in the explosion, was fixed with external hardware.

That same day the soldier was evacuated to Bagram, where his wounds were washed out and the pelvic region was re-explored. A "foreign body"- the speaker didn't say whether it was dirt, metal or something else - not seen in the first operation was removed. He suffered a collapsed lung after surgery, which was fixed.

He stayed there two days before flying by critical care air transport to Landstuhl.

Seven days after suffering his wounds the soldier arrived at a hospital in the United States. He had another collapsed lung, and pneumonia. His right foot, initially thought to be salvageable, wasn't healing and the surgeons planned to amputate it at the ankle. He had further surgery to his abdomen and numerous operations to start repairing the missing floor of his pelvis.

Look, I know times are hard now; maybe you don't have 20, or 10, or even 5 dollars to give.

But you DO have a computer, so you CAN help get the word out.

An email to your entire address book will reach many people who can help.

You can contact your local paper, or the local VFW hall, or church, or any other organization who might be thrilled to take up such a great cause.

This warrior, and many more like him, got blown apart fighting those bastards over there, so we don't have to fight 'em here.

Figure out a way you can help him.

Freedom of speech is one of our most precious rights as Americans

I have known this since I was a kid, we all have; but over the last year and a half, I have become even more appreciative of it.

I am the author of what can be a very profane blog. I am fiercely and unapologetically opposed to just about everything the Obama Administration stands for; I can come here and rant and rave and cuss and carry on to my heart's content.

And I know who I have to thank for that.

I have men like this to thank for that:

And men like this:

Never Forget

Not even ten years, and we've got plenty of Libtards saying we "overreacted" to September 11th. I refuse to link to their piece of shit articles, but Ted Koppel and Fareed Whatever-the-Fuck his name is are among them.

Mother fucking Leftist Democrat politicians all across the country think it's fucking FINE to let those Islamic sons of bitches build their victory mosque in the shadow of the World Trade Center.

Fucking hypocrite Democrats who saw nothing wrong with our flag being burned regularly, President Bush being burned in effigy, a movie made about his assassination, and endless signs being carried calling for his death now suddenly have issues with a few jackasses in Florida wanting to burn the Qu'ran.

I don't know how anybody in their right mind who loves this country can remain a Democrat.

I will NEVER forget September 11th; I will NEVER forget the words and actions of any one of these fuckers who refuse to see the truth behind why that mosque is being built.

November cannot get here quick enough for me.

Rest in peace, Sara, and everyone else who fell on September 11th.

Shanah tovah u’metukah

A sweet New Year for you all......and since I suspect Obambi's Eid Al-Fitr remarks will have far more passion than the dribble he came up with for Rosh Hashanah, I will leave you with Gov Palin's: (Emphasis mine)

As Jewish families gather to celebrate the New Year and a new beginning marking the Day of Creation, I want to join them in praying for a good and sweet year ahead. This day marks the beginning of a period of reflection and repentance. It is a time to remember our responsibilities to our families, our communities, our country, and our world.

This is also a time to remember who we are as Americans and our responsibilities to help our friends and allies as they seek peace and security. The people of Israel have overcome so many challenges, taken so many risks, and made so many sacrifices in the pursuit of peace and a better life for their children. This New Year begins with a new hope for peace, but the threats to Israel – and to us – have not gone away.

These are challenging times as Iran continues to work on building a nuclear weapon, Hamas attacks innocents on the eve of peace talks, enemies refuse to recognize Israel’s right to exist, and even in Europe and the United States we hear voices from those trying to delegitimize Israel.

To our Jewish friends and neighbors on this Rosh Hashanah, may you be inscribed in the Book of Life. And for our friends in Israel, know that the American people will continue to stand with you in this New Year as you strive for peace and security.

There is no good outcome for a war with the North Koreans

I admit that when word got out that Obama has told the military to get ready for something, I snorted.

I figured he'd give them a sternly worded letter and a harsh finger shaking.

But a dear friend has told me that she has heard from many of her family in South Korea that things are ugly; if it is so ugly that Obambi feels the need to bestir himself, I suspect it's very ugly, indeed, unless he's just looking to boost his military cred after disarming the troops in Afghanistan. (No longer allowed to have rounds in their chambers on patrol, thankyouverymuch you gutless motherfucking bastard.)

The North Korean army is a million plus strong. The North Koreans do not have enough food to feed all their civilians anyway, so I'm sure they'd be happy to arm them with axes and place them in front of the military as an opening wave.

All of my Korean friends here have relatives in North Korea; some have grandparents there they've never seen before.

If we do anything, I think it's gonna have to be big and ugly. All war should be conducted big and ugly, in my opinion, but this one even more so.

Hopefully the Chinese will lean on 'em, and it won't come to anything.

Indulge me in some sentimental melodrama here....this is one of my favorite songs, and I think one of the most beautiful folk songs in the world.

Oh, and then the fucker refuses to take questions at an event honoring Freedom of the Press, nor does he ever mention that the pig who perpetrated this act of ISLAMIC TERRORISM is one he wants to see granted full American rights in a trial smack dab in the middle of NYC, with the opportunity that affords him to spew vast amounts of hate worldwide, while also exposing many military secrets into the bargain...his and Holder's mutual wet dream, no doubt.

He also implies that Danny was killed because he was a journalist...hey, Captain Obvious,.....Danny was killed because he was a JEW, and ISLAMIC TERRORISTS hate Jews, even more than they hate Americans, a fact which neither you nor your totally incompetent, American-hating administration seem to fully grasp.

An open letter to the MLB players union

I am a rabid baseball fan, to say the least.

I absorbed this love at the knee of my maternal grandfather. My Daddy encouraged it.

One of my uncles was in the stands when Hank Aaron, also known in this household as The Only Man I'll Ever Love, broke Babe Ruth's home-run record.

I stood by the Braves all through my youth when they were regularly finishing last in the League; I soared to 14 straight Pennants and one World Series Championship with them. (And I am apparently in for another dry spell going forward.)

I watched George W. Bush throw out that first pitch at Yankee Stadium after September 11th with tears streaming down my cheeks and so much pride in my heart and such love for my country that I almost passed out in my own living room. American courage, defiance and pride were defined that evening on a baseball diamond, and there was no more perfect place for such a display.

I stayed with your spoiled asses when you went on strike; I defended your cheating asses through the Steroid Era.....but if you fuckers call a boycott on the All-Star game in Arizona because of the immigration law that was just passed, I am DONE with you.

Obama's credibility crisis

Hard on the heels of that shocking Pew Research Center survey finding that four out of five Americans don't trust government comes a blitz of new revelations about the Obama administration that amount to a full-fledged credibility crisis. The latest disclosures are especially damaging because they concern President Obama's possible misrepresentation of his relationships with former Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich and convicted felon Tony Rezko, his administration's misleading statements about Obamacare costs, and questions about improper manipulation of government-owned General Motors and the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The Blagojevich revelations were no less serious for being accidental. Blagojevich's defense attorneys filed a federal court motion to subpoena Obama concerning charges that the former governor tried to sell the U.S. Senate seat formerly occupied by the chief executive. Improper formatting of the heavily redacted public version of the motion contained evidence that Obama spoke to Blagojevich about the Senate appointment a week before telling White House reporters that he had not done so. The document also revealed that federal prosecutors are withholding from Blagojevich's attorneys documents describing what Obama told investigators about conversations with Rezko on the appointment or his financial ties to the Chicago developer who was one of his key fundraisers.

On Obamacare, the president and his appointees said repeatedly over the last year that it would reduce government health care spending. Yet now comes Kathleen Sebelius, Obama's Department of Health and Human Services secretary, confessing that "We don't know how much it's going to cost." Why is Sebelius only now saying this when her own department just made public a report obviously months in preparation that projected government health care costs overall will go up, not down? That same HHS report also said Obamacare's Medicare cuts could put 15 percent of all hospitals out of business, making treatment harder to get and more expensive, especially for seniors.

Finally, General Motors claimed in national advertisements this week that it repaid its Troubled Asset Relief Program loans, plus interest, five years early. But the TARP inspector general said GM used other TARP funds to repay its original TARP loans, so the ads were fundamentally dishonest. Recall here that White House adviser Carol Browner told GM and other automakers to "write nothing down" about their dealings last year with administration officials on fuel economy standards. So it seems entirely appropriate to ask if GM's repayment claims were "suggested" by somebody in the Obama White House. That would be the same White House that is also now suspected of improperly influencing the SEC to file fraud charges against Goldman Sachs just as Congress debates Obama's financial reform proposal. As the Obama administration will learn, plummeting public trust eats away at the fundamental credibility of government and undermines its ability to carry out even its most basic duties.

All I have to add is that all these things probably shouldn't be too surprising, coming as they do from a man who thinks that Arizona is violating people's civil rights by cracking down on illegal immigrants.

Boobquake!!!

Any other ladies participating today???

More health care fun

First of all, that CMS report was apparently given to HHS a week before the voting took place:

OFFICE POLITICS

The economic report released last week by Health and Human Services, which indicated that President Barack Obama’s health care "reform" law would actually increase the cost of health care and impose higher costs on consumers, had been submitted to the office of HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius more than a week before the Congressional votes on the bill, according to career HHS sources, who added that Sebelius’s staff refused to review the document before the vote was taken.

"The reason we were given was that they did not want to influence the vote," says an HHS source. "Which is actually the point of having a review like this, you would think." (Yea, I think.)

The analysis, performed by Medicare’s Office of the Actuary, which in the past has been identified as a "nonpolitical" office, set off alarm bells when submitted. "We know a copy was sent to the White House via their legislative affairs staff," says the HHS staffer, "and there were a number of meetings here almost right after the analysis was submitted to the secretary’s office. Everyone went into lockdown, and people here were too scared to go public with the report."

In the end, the report was released several weeks after the vote — the review by the secretary’s office reportedly took less than three days — and bore a note that the analysis was not the official position of the Obama administration…

We have to say that we are not surprised.

But we are still appalled.

This is not quite the ‘open government’ we were promised.

Secondly, despite the fact that we were told were were being raped with this for our own good (to "bend the cost curve down") Dems are now scurrying around like rats trying to get price controls on insurance rates:

When President Obama signed his health-care reform last month, he declared it will "lower costs for families and for businesses and for the federal government." So why, barely a month later, are Democrats scrambling to pass a new bill that would impose price controls on insurance?

In now-they-tell-us hearings on Tuesday, the Senate health committee debated a bill that would give states the power to reject premium increases that state regulators determine are "unreasonable." The White House proposed this just before the final Obama- Care scramble, but it couldn’t be included because it violated the procedural rules that Democrats abused to pass the bill.

Some 27 states currently have some form of rate review in the individual and small-business markets, but they generally don’t leverage it in a political way because insolvent insurers are expensive for states and bankruptcies limit consumer choices. One exception is Massachusetts: Governor Deval Patrick is now using this regulatory power to create de facto price controls and assail the state’s insurers as cover for the explosive costs resulting from the ObamaCare prototype the Bay State passed in 2006.

National Democrats now want the power to do the same across the country, because they know how unrealistic their cost-control claims really are. Democrats are petrified they’ll get the blame they deserve when insurance costs inevitably spike. So the purpose of this latest Senate bill is to have a pre-emptive political response on hand…

In Massachusetts, Mr. Patrick says his price-control sally will be followed by reviewing what doctors and hospitals charge—or in other words for price controls on the medical services that make up most health spending. ObamaCare will gradually move in the same direction.

Or maybe not so gradually, judging by the study released last last week by Richard Foster, the Obama Administration’s Medicare actuary. Mr. Foster predicts net national health spending will increase by about 1% annually above the status quo that is already estimated to be $4.7 trillion in 2019. This is one more rebuke to the White House fantasy that a new entitlement will lower health costs.

"Although several provisions would help to reduce health care cost growth, their impact would be more than offset through 2019 by the higher health expenditures resulting from the coverage expansions," Mr. Foster writes—and that’s assuming everything goes according to plan. He considers it "plausible and even probable" that prices in the private market will rise as greater demand due to subsidized coverage runs into the relatively fixed supply of doctors and hospitals.

Most of ObamaCare’s unrealistic "savings" come from cranking down the way Medicare calculates its price controls, and Mr. Foster writes that they’ll grow "more slowly than, and in a way that was unrelated to, the providers’ costs of furnishing services to beneficiaries." He expects that 15% of hospital budgets may be driven into deficits, thus "possibly jeopardizing access to care for beneficiaries." Isn’t reform grand?

The official who will preside over this fiscal trainwreck is Donald Berwick, the Harvard professor and chief of the Institute for Healthcare Improvement who the White House has nominated to run Medicare. Dr. Berwick explained in an interview last year that the British National Health Service has "developed very good and very disciplined, scientifically grounded, policy-connected models for the evaluation of medical treatments from which we ought to learn." He added that "The decision is not whether or not we will ration care—the decision is whether we will ration with our eyes open. And right now, we are doing it blindly."

In fact, the real choice with medical care, as with any good or service, is between rationing via politics and bureaucratic lines or via a competitive market and prices. As Democrats are showing by trying to pass a new insurance bill, they want all U.S. health care to function like price-controlled Medicare. Dr. Berwick’s job as the country’s largest purchaser of health care will be to find ways to offset the higher insurance and medical costs that ObamaCare’s subsidies and mandates will cause, which will inevitably mean political rationing of care.

In a 17-minute, 2,600-word answer to a question about tax increases in Charlotte, North Carolina earlier this month, Mr. Obama mentioned that "what we’ve done is we’ve embedded in how Medicare reimburses, how Medicaid reimburses, all these ideas to actually reduce the costs of care." The embedding via price controls is already underway.

As usual, the Wall Street Journal’s editorial page gives us more news than is usually found on the front pages of most newspapers.

This piece actually explains in English the cryptic and probably purposefully confusing article that the Associated Press buried published yesterday.

In a nutshell, the Democrats now wants to give states the power to control how private insurance companies reimburse for medical treatments, just like how the federal government controls how and for what Medicare reimburses.

(And we have all seen how well that has worked out.)

The Democrats in Congress know that the results of this new power will be so ugly — rationing, in one form or another — that they want the states to take the political hit.

Why else would Congress give away a power they could have for themselves?

This is exactly what has happened to Medicare....Congress will only allow the doctors and hospitals to be compensated at a lesser rate; many doctors and hospitals have already begun to refuse new Medicare patients.

You cannot push 34 million people in to an industry, then turn around and tell them they can't adjust their prices.

The health care industry will have to hire an unimaginable amount of staff and purchase unfathomable amounts of supplies to accomodate the additional tens of  millions of people...things ranging from bandages right on up to MRI machines and plenty more millions of dollars worth of malpractice insurance, and the Dems expect them to do so without raising prices?

34 million people might mean they'll need a few more hospitals, ya think??? But Obama and Pelosi tell them they can't raise their rates? Is the money gonna come straight out of Obama's ass, or what?

What kind of fucking morons did those Kool-Aid drinking 52% elect, anyway?? Obviously neither Odumbo nor the Democratic members of this Congress nor the ignorant idiots who voted for him have the slightest understanding of business or economics, and apparently they don't possess even a modicum of basic math skills.

Apparently, Al Gore is not the only environmental hypocrite out there

Tom Brady and his wife (lover? baby mama? I am not real sure) who spend a fair amount of time lecturing everyone on being good stewards of the Earth...and she is some sort of fucking Green ambassador to the UN!...are building a 20,000 square foot trophy house in Brentwood.

http://www.bostonherald.com/news/regional/view/20100425home_field_advantage_bradys_pigskin_palace_slammed/srvc=home&position=0

Now, don't get me wrong; I am all for people enjoying their money.

But much like Al Gore and The Edge, I find it rather hard to take the constant preaching about how we should all live as austerely as possible for the sake of Mother Earth, while they go off  and do shit like this. Much like all the private jets, hundreds of limos with one person in them, etc etc when all the world leaders meet up at those fucking Climate Change conferences, belching carbon at a rate higher than the entire country of Ethiopia.

Hell YEA, Tom, 20,000 square feet worth of house is a pretty damn bold statement indeed on just exactly how much you and the little woman care about the Earth.

Yet another case of   "for thee, but not for me,"  I suppose.

Kinda like the Obamas mowin' down on some ribs, greens, corn bread and sweet tea all weekend, while pushing Draconian anti-salt legislation, and constantly harping about obesity. 'Cuz I mean he WON, and all. He just makes the rules; he doesn't have to actually follow them like the peasants must.

A more rational and less profane analysis of the CMS report

than what I posted a few days ago:

Hat tip: American Spectator, emphasis mine

In the rest of the 38-page report, actuary Richard Foster confirms many of the arguments conservatives have been making throughout the health care process. For instance:

-- By delaying the major spending provisions until 2014, Democrats hid the true 10-year cost of their legislation: “Because of these transition effects and the fact that most of the coverage provisions would be in effect for only 6 of the 10 years of the budget period, the cost estimates shown in this memorandum do not represent a full 10-year cost for the new legislation,” CMS says.

-- Medicare cuts are unlikely to materialize: The CMS report cautions that “it is important to note that the estimated savings shown in this memorandum for one category of Medicare provisions may be unrealistic.” The reason is that if the proposed cuts to payments to hospitals, nursing facilities, and home health agencies go into effect, “roughly 15 percent of Part A providers would become unprofitable within the 10-year projection period...” The only way to resolve this problem would be to prevent the cuts, which in turn would eat up some of the projected savings from the legislation.

-- You can’t double count the Medicare savings: While in theory Medicare Part A cuts would extend solvency of the program by 12 years, the actuary writes, “In practice the improved (Medicare hospital insurance) financing cannot be simultaneously used to finance other Federal outlays (such as the coverage expansions) and to extend the trust fund, despite the appearance of this result from the respective accounting conventions.”

-- The CLASS Act is a ponzi scheme: One of the most under-reported aspects of the new health care legislation was that it creates a smaller new entitlement within the massive entitlement – a program pushed by Ted Kennedy that would allow individuals to purchase long-term care insurance through the government. But the program begins collecting premiums before paying out benefits, making it produce surpluses in the early years that Democrats claimed as deficit savings. However, CMS notes that, “After 2015, as benefits are paid, the net savings from this program will decline; in 2025 and later, projected benefits exceed premium revenues, resulting in a net Federal costs in the longer term.”

The report goes on to say that the CLASS program is likely to be used by those with more health problems, meaning it faces “a significant risk of failure as a result of adverse selection of participants.”

Greatest play in the history of baseball

I had never seen this before, nor heard of it. Not sure how I missed it; I have been a rabid baseball fan since I was 5 years old, and I have also been accused of being rabidly patriotic, (guilty as charged, thankyouverymuch) so I am shocked that I was unaware of this!

I'm going to write Rick a letter this afternoon. I knew he was very involved with veterans, but I didn't realize the extent to which I owe him thanks. God bless you, Rick.

Hat tip: Don Surber. (Y'all need to be reading Don everyday, too. He gets great stories, and his commenters are right up there with Ace of Spades and Weasel Zippers!)

Another great quote about Arizona's tough new illegal immigration law:

“So just to be clear, it’s constitutional to penalize someone for not showing proof of health insurance but not request proof of citizenship?”

Hat tip: Gateway Pundit, which in turn lead me to Cold Fury, and this classic header:

"But…but…what if you don’t have a birth certificate, school records or employment history–you know, like the president?"

as well as some excellent commentary:

"If Arizona is now a Nazi “State of Hate”, then America is Nazi country.
That’s because the Arizona state identification requirement is a verbatim reproduction of the federal requirement. Indeed, it’s a Nazi world; almost all countries require me as an American to carry a passport or obtain a visa and produce it on demand. Some countries even require entry and exit permits. Others won’t even allow me in! Don’t they know who I am? Why–yes, yes they do–because they require i.d.!

And Mexico is one of the toughest. "

The point the Liberals seem to be missing here is that if the damn illegals don't get in to trouble, there will be no demand to see ID.

Stand in Solidarity With Israel, NYC, April 25th

More great news about the Hellthcare that was shoved down our throats.

If you've got parents or grandparents who depend on Medicare, read it and weep:

The Obama administration’s Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has issued a new report with dire news for America’s seniors. Obamacare’s smoke and mirrors budgeting gimmickry has real world consequences that will cause more than seven million seniors to lose their current Medicare coverage and could force as many as 15% of hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, and home health agencies out of participation in the Medicare system altogether.

It gets real interesting about half way down page 18, if you care to read it.

In case you missed it in the video, total health care spending during the decade is estimated to surpass $35 trillion. TRILLION. (I must remind you all that the Demonrats were full of promises of how this would come in under a trillion dollars. Swore it.)

The Administration rushes to point out that the law will decrease the federal deficit by $143 billion over the 10-year period! Wow, spend 35 TRILLION to save 143 billion. Behold the OBAMA MATH!

Oh and they're so proud that 12 million previously uninsured people will now be covered!!! For the low, low price of 35 TRILLION DOLLARS!!! Not to mention they get to rob us of our individual freedom of choice! It's a win-win for them!!

Hat Tip: Hot Air, Gateway Pundit

This might just be the straw that breaks the camel's back

Congressman Jim Obertar (D-MN) wants to amend the Clean Water Act after almost 40 years by removing the word “navigable” when limiting federal jurisdiction. Stephen Hayes, Mara Liasson, Charles Krauthammer, and Bret Baier debate whether Oberstar’s measure would simply solidify current federal authority, or eliminate every last vestige of federalism and state sovereignty.

Because if they really think they can have control over the creek that runs down the back of my property, or the two ponds on it, they are going to have a revolution on their hands, and I sincerely doubt I am the only person who feels this way.

How is is that forcing me to buy health insurance

is not a violation of my rights, but Arizona wanting to secure its own border is??

"President Barack Obama criticized Arizona’s tough immigration bill as irresponsible Friday and said his administration is examining whether it would violate civil rights."

Lying fucking sacks of shit, every last gott-damned crooked Democratic

Congresslackey that voted for this abomination (obamanation?) of a Hellthcare bill:

There is so much to be pissed about, I don't even know where to start.

First of all, it's obvious as hell that they were lying about the cost. And even though I KNEW they were lying, it's nonetheless breath-takingly, gut-wrenchingly disgusting at how big of a lie they told. They had NO FUCKING IDEA how much it was going to cost.

A month after it has passed, and they are already 5 billion short, and it has hasn't even STARTED yet.

Secondly, this completely fucking clueless IDIOT is the one who will be IN CHARGE. She will have TOTAL control over every fucking decision your doctor makes, and she doesn't even grasp the simplest concept of how a small part of it is going to work, let alone that that particular portion is already 5 billion in the hole.

Thirdly, with regards to that portion, namely the High Risk Pool that EVERY state had....it goes to prove that there was absolutely no need for this bill at all.

So thanks one hell of a lot, to those 52% of you who voted for Obama, and all the shit that has come with it.

You're in great company:

But it's the Tea Partiers that the media demonizes.

How did I forget about HIM???

Photobucket

The crew at AoSHQ had some fun with this awhile back, (and yea, like all the other Moronettes, I gotta say I'd hit it, too, if I was sure the husband wouldn't care ) but he had slipped off my radar.

Apparently, the radar ain't what it used to be.

I mean, seriously, I forgot about this ?!:

Anyway, all y'all ladies in Illinois' 11th Congressional District and elsewhere need to send him some sweet, sweet love..... by which I mean cold, hard cash.

All y'all gentlemen need to do the same damn thing.

Tell him Miss Tammy sent ya.

http://www.electadam.com/

Not only is he sorry we're a Super Power,

he is also going to make damn sure we're not a dominant economic power, either.

He DID promise to fundamentally transform America, and that is one promise he is doing his best to keep.

Did I mention I love this man???

And here are a few other folks I am really behind; I have sent them all cash, and would encourage all lovers of freedom to do the same:

We could use some help running Betsy Markey's sell-out ass outta Colorado. I preferred Diggs Brown, but he dropped out and endorsed Gardner:

http://tiny.cc/cgcp0

Ryan is not in my district, but he is an awesome guy. I was hoping he'd run for Senate, but he was "discouraged" by higher ups in our pathetic party. If it wasn't for wanting to crush Markey, I'd send him all my cash:

http://tiny.cc/08zgg

You've probably seen him on Stacy's site:

http://tiny.cc/pcf8m

Even though Stupak has crapped out, and I also sent Beneshik money after the great debacle, there is another candidate in the race who for whatever reason impresses me even more than the good doctor:

http://tiny.cc/sw9da

And finally, one of my coworkers, whose family all live in Hawaii, has gotten me really excited about Charles!

http://www.djou.com/

Again, if you've got a few bucks, send some to any or all of these folks. Every bit helps; I don't think I've sent much more than 10 or 20 most of the time....it's cutting in to my perfume money, but my country is worth every penny I can spare.

Who Really Cares: The Surprising Truth About Compassionate Conservatism

Hat Tip: Booker Rising, emphasis mine.

This is no surprise to me, based on perosnal experience....and I also want to say that my Liberal friends are cheap tippers. Yea, you know who you are.

Also need to say that my Liberal Boston peep LOVES the Salvation Army bell ringers, and donates everytime she sees one, so she is the exception to this study!

*********************************************

In keeping with White House tradition, the president and vice president publicly released their returns on Thursday for national Tax Day. It turns out Republican George Bush opened his wallet substantially wider than Democrats Barack Obama and Joe Biden while residing at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave.

In 2009, the Barack and Michelle Obama donated 5.9 percent of their income to charity and Joe Biden gave away 1.4 percent of his. While in office, Bush routinely donated more than 10 percent of his income each year.

According to the Center for Philanthropy at Indiana University, more than two-thirds of American households donate to charity, with an average donation of $2,047, or 3 percent of income.

In his 2006 book, “Who Really Cares: The Surprising Truth About Compassionate Conservatism,” Syracuse University Professor Arthur Brooks analyzed charitable giving in the United States and found that conservatives were 30 percent more likely to give, even though liberal families averaged 6 percent higher household incomes. Brooks found that conservatives donate more time and give more blood, and concluded that religious participation was the single strongest predictor of generous behavior.

According to Stanford University’s Hoover Institute, religious people are 25 percent more likely to donate than non-religious people. Religious people are also 38 percent more likely to be conservative.

In 2007, the giving broke down on party lines like this:

Cheney: 5.5 %

Bush: 17.6%

McCain: 27 %

Obama: 5.6 %

Clinton 14.7 %

Biden: 0.3 %

Biden has a particularly stingy history — right before the 2008 election USA Today reported that the Bidens donated an average $369 a year over the past 10 years, 0.2 percent of their income for the decade.

Brooks looked at the states Bush won in 2004 and found that on average, their residents gave more to charity than the states that went for Kerry. What’s more:

Bush carried 24 of the 25 states where charitable giving was above average. In the 10 reddest states, in which Bush got more than 60 percent majorities, the average percentage of personal income donated to charity was 3.5. Residents of the bluest states, which gave Bush less than 40 percent, donated just 1.9 percent.

Around the same time John Stossel did an unscientific experiment on 20/20 comparing how much a Salvation Army Bucket could collect in one day in San Francisco (the most liberal place in America according to The Daily Caller) vs. Sioux Falls, S.D. (the heart of a deeply red state). Stossel’s results?

Even though people in Sioux Falls make, on average, half as much money as people in San Francisco, and even though the San Francisco location was much busier — three times as many people were within reach of the bucket — by the end of the second day, the Sioux Falls bucket held twice as much money.

A New York Times op-ed titled, “Bleeding Heart Tightwads,” went even further than Brooks’s book:

A study by Google found an even greater disproportion: Average annual contributions reported by conservatives were almost double those of liberals.

Other research has reached similar conclusions. The “generosity index” from the Catalogue for Philanthropy typically finds that red states are the most likely to give to nonprofits, while Northeastern states are least likely to do so.

…. Come on liberals, redeem yourselves, and put your wallets where your hearts are.

Such results surprised Brooks himself:

When I started doing research on charity, I expected to find that political liberals — who, I believed, genuinely cared more about others than conservatives did — would turn out to be the most privately charitable people. So when my early findings led me to the opposite conclusion, I assumed I had made some sort of technical error. I re-ran analyses. I got new data. Nothing worked. In the end, I had no option but to change my views.

And Lord have mercy, how 'bout that Cardinals/Mets game???

20 innings, 19 pitchers, with 2 position players having to pitch!

Couldn't have said it better myself

Rock on, Caribou Barbie!

From her Facebook entry:

Asked this week about his faltering efforts to advance the Middle East peace process, President Obama did something remarkable. In front of some 47 foreign leaders and hundreds of reporters from all over the world, President Obama said that “whether we like it or not, we remain a dominant military superpower.”

Whether we like it or not? Most Americans do like it. America’s military may be one of the greatest forces for good the world has ever seen, liberating countless millions from tyranny, slavery, and oppression over the last 234 years. As a dominant superpower, the United States has won wars hot and cold; our military has advanced the cause of freedom in Iraq and Afghanistan and kept authoritarian powers like Russia and China in check.

It is in America’s and the world’s interests for our country to remain a dominant military superpower, but under our great country’s new leadership that dominance seems to be slipping away. President Obama has ended production of the F-22, the most advanced fighter jet this country has ever built. He’s gutted our missile defense program by eliminating shield resources in strategic places including Alaska. And he’s ended the program to build a new generation of nuclear weapons that would have ensured the reliability of our nuclear deterrent well into the future. All this is in the context of the country’s unsustainable debt that could further limit defense spending. As one defense expert recently explained:

"The president is looking to eliminate the last vestiges of the Reagan-era buildup. Once the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan are “ended” (not “won”), the arms control treaties signed, and defense budgets held at historic lows while social entitlements and debt service rise to near-European levels, the era of American superpower will have passed."

The truth is this: by his actions we see a president who seems to be much more comfortable with an American military that isn’t quite so dominant and who feels the need to apologize for America when he travels overseas. Could it be a lack of faith in American exceptionalism? The fact is that America and our allies are safer when we are a dominant military superpower – whether President Obama likes it or not.
– Sarah Palin

**************************************

It is completely obvious to me that this man is ashamed of our country, and will not rest until he has destroyed everything we stand for. The rich must be punished, our military strength must be weakened so we no longer are the dominant power in the world, and individual freedoms will be taken away to promote the collective.

A hero I didn't know about....

Today is the anniversary of the Virginia Tech shootings; one of the perfume blogs I follow (her husband is a prof at VT) mentioned this :

"Dr. Liviu Librescu, a survivor of a Nazi concentration camp, who at the age of 76 held the classroom door closed against gunfire, in order to give his students the opportunity to escape through the second story window. I am in awe of that sacrificial love in action. "

I am deeply humbled, and in awe as well; I'd like to share this link with you:

Thank you, Dr. Librescu.

Proud tea bagger here!

I love this video, which I have seen all over today, but I copied the code off of Vail Spot.

I have always embraced the term tea-bagger, because I love the irony of it. Every time the other side uses it against us, I giggle....cuz let's face it, who is on the recieving end of a tea bagger?

I am going to try and hit one of the Tea Parties tomorrow after work, either in Long Beach, or Irvine. The Tea Partiers are very active in Southern California.

Tell me again who the haters are?

And in New Orleans, several theories; radical Liberals, anti-Bobby Jindal types, or possibly union mother fuckers....highly unlikely any of the three groups are registered as Republicans:

http://joshuapundit.blogspot.com/2010/04/bad-moon-risin-in-new-orleans-jindal.html

At the Tea Party event in Nevada...I"m guessing the Tea Partiers are not egging their own bus, and that it's not Republicans going off on Breitbart:

About 5 miles up the road from me, in Garden Grove; I'm guessing these fuckers are NOT Tea Partiers, Republicans, or Independents. What's your guess?

And who apporves of this sort of behavior? :

Let us not forget last year's drama:

Somehow, I doubt these union pricks who beat the shit out of Ken Gladney are Republicans, either:

The guy who bit someone's finger off? ObamaCare supporter and over-all Kool-aid drinker fo' sho':

And let's never forget who is egging them all on:

SEIU's Plan to Exploit "Immigration Reform" to Further Socialist Agenda

If y'all are not reading New Zeal every day, you're missing out on some amazing (shocking, but amazing) things. Please book mark his blog, and check in every day. (Link to the right, on my blogroll)

From his post yesterday:

SEIU's Plan to Exploit "Immigration Reform" to Further Socialist Agenda
In Obama File 95, published in January, I exposed the SEIU's agenda behind the sweet-sounding "Immigration Reform". In June 2009, Executive Vice President of the mega-union, Eliseo Medina spoke of turning the millions of new citizens into progressive voters. A few days ago, on April 6, 2010, the KeyWiki Blog has the story on another of the SEIU's Executive Vice Presidents, Gerry Hudson. I have crossposted this below...

Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) is an highly influential organization.

http://keywiki.org/index.php/Democratic_Socialists_of_America

While only 6,000 strong, DSA has considerable strength in the labor movement, non profits, education and inside the Democratic Party. While Marxist based, DSA's innocuous sounding name, allows the organization to operate in ways and places that their allies in the the Communist Party USA cannot.

After using its clout to push through "healthcare reform" DSA is now using its influence in the giant union SEIU, to promote "immigration reform".

On April 6, 2010 at the McShain Lounge in McCarthy Hall Georgetown University, Washington, D.C. the DSA controlled Dissent magazine sponsored a seminar "Labor, the Left, and Progressives in the Obama Era", summed up as follows:

After the success of health care reform, what’s next on labor’s agenda? How can the labor movement grow and engage with a progressive movement that speaks to the Obama era? What is the role of younger workers, workers of color, and women? Is there a new “New Deal” on the horizon?
Panellists included:

Barbara Ehrenreich, a writer/activist and formr DSA co-chair.
Christopher Hayes, Washington editor of the the DSA infiltrated Nation magazine and former writer for the DSA dominated In These Times.
Gerry Hudson, executive vice-president of the SEIU. A long time DSA member.
Michael Kazin, co-editor of Dissent magazine and co-author of a history of American communism with DSA member Maurice Isserman. Kazin traveled to Cuba in 1970 to cut cane for Castro, with the infamous Venceremos Brigade.
Harold Meyerson, columnist for the Washington Post. A DSA vice chair.
Liz Shuler, secretary-treasurer of the AFL-CIO
The seminar worked on ways to sell "immigration reform" to workers - a tough job, especially in a time of high unemployment.

SEIU leader and veteran of the Communist-led Black Radical Congress, Gerry Hudson, promoted the idea of manipulating anti-Latino immigrant black workers. This would be achieved by exploiting and stoking their fear of white "f**king rabidly racists". To Hudson it seems to be a legitimate tactic to promote anti white feeling among blacks, in order to get them to support immigrant Latinos.

Hudson cynically wants to ally black workers with Latinos against these white "f**king rabidly racist" workers.

But why, in a time of high unemployment, do DSA labor unionists want to legalize illegal immigrants and open US borders to still more low skilled labor competition? How is that in their members interest?

The answer is simple. The members' interests don't matter... it's about votes:

When they voted in November, they voted overwhelmingly for progressive candidates.

Barack Obama got two out of every three voters that showed up

So I think there’s two things that matter for the progressive community.

Number one, if we are to expand this electorate to win, the progressive community needs to solidly be on the side of immigrants, that we’ll expand and solidify the progressive coalition for the future…”
When you are in the middle of a fight for your life you will remember who was there with you. And immigrants count on progressives to be able to do that.
Number two.

We reform the immigration laws, it puts 12 million people on the path to citizenship and eventually voters. Can you imagine if we have, even the same ratio, two out of three?

If we have eight million new voters who care about …… and will be voting. We will be creating a governing coalition for the long term, not just for an election cycle.
There you have the strategy. Fight for the illegal immigrants, grant them citizenship, then exploit their gratitude in the form of votes to create a “governing coalition for the long term, not just for an election cycle…”
In other words, lock the Democrats, the unions and their socialist allies into power indefinitely. exploit millions of immigrant votes to defeat Republican candidates, turning conservatives into a permanent electoral minority.

Labor unions in Marxist hands become mere transmission belts for socialist policies. The looming “immigration reform” debate is a graphic example of how a small cadre of socialists can leverage labor power into altering the direction of the world’s most powerful country.

American workers and voters are being sold into state slavery by a handful of Marxist ideologues who have captured the levers of labor power.
American labor expelled communist from its ranks in the 1940s.
Recently retired AFL-CIO president and former SEIU leader John Sweeney – you guessed it, another DSA member, overturned the communist-ban in 1995, with predictable results.

US workers need to realize that, by pushing for so-called “immigration reform”, their socialist leaders in the labor movement and the Democratic Party are actively working to destroy the American way of life.

Can you imagine if some redneck tried to do this to the Dems?

The main reason I got so politically active this time is because Pelosi and Reid had the nerve to call people Nazi's who were protesting. All this will do is stir people up. And most sickening of all, pretty soon no one is going to believe anyone any more when it comes to charges of racism.

New Hampshire Democrats are engaged in a statewide search for liberal activists willing to attend so-called tea parties on Thursday and carry signs expressing racist or fringe sentiments, a Democratic source with knowledge of the effort tells NowHampshire.com.

According to the source, who sought anonymity for fear of reprisals, the Dems’ last minute scramble reflects a growing obsession among party leaders that they need to discredit the tea party movement soon or it will overwhelm them come the November election.

Former Democratic State Party Chairman Kathy Sullivan is heading up the search, the source said. Sullivan has been calling and e-mailing liberal activists trying to get them to attend tea parties in different parts of the state and hold signs denying the authenticity of President Barack Obama’s birth certificate and make racially disparaging comments to reporters.
“This is Kathy’s [Sullivan] project,” the source told NowHampshire.com. “She is absolutely obsessed with painting the tea party people as racists.”
Similar “crash the tea party” efforts are taking place throughout the country on Tax Day.

If she pulls it off, this won’t be the first time Sullivan has endeavored to manufacture a racist controversy regarding the tea party movement. Last month Sullivan and other Democratic leaders attempted to portray a “white pride” rally in Concord held by a Massachusetts-based white supremacist organization as a tea party. Sullivan was forced to retract her bogus accusation.

Nor would this maneuver be a radical departure from other stunts the party has engaged in recently. Around Easter the Democrats sent someone dressed in a bunny costume to the Republican State Committee headquarters. The stunt was widely panned, though thinly covered, and some internet wags speculated Sullivan herself was inside the suit (see below and judge for yourself.)
Sullivan has also been making herself a bit of a nuisance in Manchester. She has been attending meetings of the Board of Mayor and Aldermen to glower at Mayor Ted Gatsas.
