Taxman!

Much as I love to dog on him when he has it coming...and this vid is GREAT....he sure is good-looking, isn't he??

hmmm...the Lefties don't appear to be any happier with him

than those of us on the side of Right...

This one is LOL funny, but kinda mean, and I'm appalled that anyone would hope "ugly things" would happen to President Obama:

http://www.commondreams.org/view/2010/01/22-7

This one sounds like several people I know and LOTS of my well-educated co-workers, who also admit to being blinded by the hoopla:

http://www.realclearpolitics.com/articles/2010/01/24/why_i_regret_voting_for_president_obama_99879.html

Couldn't have said it better myself

We the people of the United States owe Scott Brown's supporters a huge debt of gratitude. They didn't merely elect a senator. They ripped the façade off the Obama presidency.

Just as Dorothy and Toto exposed the ordinary man behind the curtain in "The Wizard of Oz," the voters in Massachusetts revealed that, in this White House, there is no there there.

It's all smoke and mirrors, bells and whistles, held together with glib talk, Chicago politics and an audacious sense of entitlement.

At the center is a young and talented celebrity whose worldview, we now know, is an incoherent jumble of poses and big-government instincts. His self-aggrandizing ambition exceeds his ability by so much that he is making a mess of everything he touches.

He never advances a practical idea. Every proposal overreaches and comes wrapped in ideology and a claim of moral superiority. He doesn't listen to anybody who doesn't agree with him

Gee, amplifying the warming data by 25 times the actual rate

seems tacky to me. Rather alarmist, and scare-mongering, and all like that.

More from the Telegraph: And let us not forget that the alleged melting of the Himalayan icesheets has been a central icon in global warming campaigners' propaganda. Everything that polar bears have been to the West, the ice of the Himalayas has been – and more – to the East. This is because, as Mr Gore emphasised in his Oscar-winning film An Inconvenient Truth, the vast Himalayan ice sheet feeds seven of the world's major river systems, thus helping to provide water to 40 per cent of the world's population.

And it was all wrong. Fancy that. Inconvenient, indeed. Wonder if Dr Pachauri and Al Gore will give back their Nobel Peace prizes?

Unfuckingbelievable is right, momma~

One of the first things Obambi did when he took office was to shut down the CIA's terrorist interrogation program. I will spare you my opinion on that, but I daresay you could hazzard a guess....

It was replaced by something called "High Value Detainee Interrogation Group." The creation of this Group -- the HIG -- was announced with some fanfare a year ago by President Obama to counter the impression that he wasn't serious about protecting America.

But Dennis Blair, the frickin' Director of National Intelligence, has testified that the HIG is not actually operational yet!

So let me get this straight....the Messiah shuts the original process down without having anything to immediately put in it's place, and a year later, there is STILL nothing in place.

This administration had plenty of time to go around prosecuting interrogators for nothing more than doing their jobs, but hasn't bothered to staff one of the most important national security positions....and one that they themselves came up with, not some heinous thing they inherited from The Cowboy.

H/T Weasel Zippers http://www.weaselzippers.net/blog/2010/01/natl-security-advisor-testified-before-congress-that-christmas-day-bomber-should-have-been-interroga.html

It's more than obvious to me that Obambi & Co are not particularly concerned about terrorism.

Well, except for the fac that Gitmo is still open, and they have admitted that at least 47 of the detainees being held there will never be brought to trial, and cannot be released.

So I guess the ol' Cowboy was right after all....

This is what America does best...

Well, naturally...it's Bush's fault

The people of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts are still angry about the Bush administration, so they ...voted Republican.

Whiniest, most finger-pointing administration ever!!!!

NOW the administration is claiming they are ineffective because the computers are too old!

Those would be the same computers that they inherited from Bush, of course....do they allow Bush to make the same excuse? I never heard anyone in that administration complaining about the computers.

And I wonder if they're the same computers the Clinton folks vandalized when they left office?

Ways to help in Haiti

Updated to add Team Rubicon...theyre doing GREAT things:

http://blog.teamrubiconhaiti.org/

I realize I have been posting an awful lot of pleas for charity lately, but this one is urgent, as well as personal for me.

I am very familiar with Compassion....I sponsor 4 children through them, one of whom is in Haiti, and for whose safety I am praying hourly. Compassion has a large presence in Haiti, and should be able to respond fairly quickly.

And lastly, for my dear Liberal readers...

http://www.clintonfoundation.org/haitiearthquake/

Party hearty, Dear Leader....

In the midst of what he himself keeps referring to as the worst recession since the Great Depression, the Obama's don't seem to be too bothered about entertaining in style.

A party every three days, seriously??? I mean, I know MissDez is a Luziana native, and Miss Tammy ain't gonna drag out the mud she could freely sling on MissDez here, but a party every three days is a lot, even for a daughter of New Orleans ....what are the Obama's thinking??

And Wagyu steaks at a cocktail party????

They are vulgar and tacky and irresponsible.

My deepest sympathies to the Biden family

Vice President Biden's mama passed away today... she was 92. I can't imagine how awful it must be to lose your mama, and my condolences and prayers go out to him.

If he ain't careful, he'll have to run as a Republican next time!

I agree with Ed and John; he appears to be gettin' his Cheney on!

I, too, loved the part about being at war, not fighting a crime wave.

I won't even get started on the whole "this should have come sooner" thing...I'll just say "Purdy good speech, Mr. President. Now hold that thought."

Speech:

Yes and amen, Victor

My favorite quote:

"If Obama gives yet another press conference or interview, and references himself as a nontraditional minority landmark figure who is not only a testament to our own moral progress, but also a reminder of how bad we were in the past, well, we are at the point where most will either snooze or laugh."

(Let's not forget the guffaw and snort option....we get that a lot here in Miss Tammy's household. To the point where Miss Tammy's Bettr Half often asks her to leave the room, so he can actually listen to what's being said.)

Another well-stated point:

1) Quit whining about closing Guantanamo, and close the damn thing. It either is useful or not. The American people are getting sick and tired of this sort of “Bush made me keep it open even though it is counter-productive” whining.

If Guantanamo is a recruiting tool, then by all means stop the recruiting tool.

Instead, we get the impression that these incredibly directionless people have discovered that Guantanamo has both utility and yet is a political liability among their more fervent supporters, and therefore they wish to continue its usefulness while blaming Bush for its unpopularity.

Help get the charges against the Seals dropped

I have never thought online petitions got anyone's attention, but RedState is pushing this, so I will, too.

These are completely bogus charges; these boys were willing to go to courts-martial over this, because they KNOW they did nothing wrong.

If any little thing I can do helps their cause, I am willing to do it.

Here's the petition:

A worthy cause, for very little cash outlay!

One of my greatets fears is that because places like the UN give an audience to Holocaust deniers, some day the history books will tell a very different story.

This is such an awesome thing to do, on so many levels....the cause itself is worthy, but think how exciting the children will be to have so many responses from all over the country. And think how much this will help them realize how important it is to do good things all their lives....and think especially of how important it is to keep the memory alive of each child slaughtered during the Holocaust.

For the price of a stamp and a penny, you can do all these things! And I bet you anything a dollar is cheaper to mail than a penny....

We need a problem like Sarah

From Don Surber, his e-mail of the day: http://blogs.dailymail.com/donsurber/archives/7035

Dewie Whetsell, Alaskan Fisherman. As posted in comments on Greta’s article referencing the MOVEON ad about Sarah Palin.

(Emphasis mine)

The last 45 of my 66 years I’ve spent in a commercial fishing town in Alaska I understand Alaska politics but never understood national politics well until this last year. Here’s the breaking point:

Neither side of the Palin controversy gets it. It’s not about persona, style, rhetoric, it’s about doing things. Even Palin supporters never mention the things that I’m about to mention here.

1. Democrats forget when Palin was the Darling of the Democrats, because as soon as Palin took the Governor’s office away from a fellow Republican and tough SOB, Frank Murkowski, she tore into the Republican’s “Corrupt Bastards Club” (CBC) and sent them packing. Many of them are now residing in State housing and wearing orange jump suits The Democrats reacted by skipping around the yard, throwing confetti and singing, “la la la la” (well, you know how they are). Name another governor in this country that has ever done anything similar.

2. Now with the CBC gone, there were fewer Alaskan politicians to protect the huge, giant oil companies here. So she constructed and enacted a new system of splitting the oil profits called “ACES.” Exxon (the biggest corporation in the world) protested and Sarah told them, “don’t let the door hit you in the stern on your way out.” They stayed, and Alaska residents went from being merely wealthy to being filthy rich. Of course, the other huge international oil companies meekly fell in line. Again, give me the name of any other governor in the country that has done anything similar.

3. The other thing she did when she walked into the governor’s office is she got the list of State requests for federal funding for projects, known as “pork.” She went through the list, took 85% of them and placed them in the “when-hell-freezes-over” stack. She let locals know that if we need something built, we’ll pay for it ourselves. Maybe she figured she could use the money she got from selling the previous governor’s jet because it was extravagant. Maybe she could use the money she saved by dismissing the governor’s cook (remarking that she could cook for her own family), giving back the State vehicle issued to her, maintaining that she already had a car, and dismissing her State provided security force (never mentioning — I imagine — that she’s packing heat herself). I’m still waiting to hear the names of those other governors.

4. Now, even with her much-ridiculed “gosh and golly” mannerism, she also managed to put together a totally new approach to getting a natural gas pipeline built which will be the biggest private construction project in the history of North America No one else could do it although they tried. If that doesn’t impress you, then you’re trying too hard to be unimpressed while watching her do things like this while baking up a batch of brownies with her other hand.

5. For 30 years, Exxon held a lease to do exploratory drilling at a place called Point Thompson. They made excuses the entire time why they couldn’t start drilling. In truth they were holding it like an investment. No governor for 30 years could make them get started. Then, she told them she was revoking their lease and kicking them out. They protested and threatened court action. She shrugged and reminded them that she knew the way to the court house. Alaska won again.

6. President Obama wants the nation to be on 25% renewable resources for electricity by 2025. Sarah went to the legislature and submitted her plan for Alaska to be at 50% renewables by 2025. We are already at 25%. I can give you more specifics about things done, as opposed to style and persona Everybody wants to be cool, sound cool, look cool. But that’s just a cover-up. I’m still waiting to hear from liberals the names of other governors who can match what mine has done in two and a half years. I won’t be holding my breath.

By the way, she was content to return to AK after the national election and go to work, but the haters wouldn’t let her. Now these adolescent screechers are obviously not scuba divers. And no one ever told them what happens when you continually jab and pester a barracuda. Without warning, it will spin around and tear your face off. Shoulda known better.
You have just read the truth about Sarah Palin that sends the media, along with the democrat party, into a wild uncontrolled frenzy to discredit her. I guess they are only interested in skirt chasers, dishonesty, immoral people, liars, womanizers, murderers, and bitter ex-presidents’ wives.

So “You go, Girl.” I only wish the men in Washington had your guts, determination, honesty, and morals.

This is what I have always felt about Sarah Palin. She has actually DONE things, and she is not afraid to back down. I wish someone would find a position for her in Washington, like Energy Secretary or something.
